Mainly known as an architect and urban planner, Le Corbusier also designed furniture and lighting fixtures and as early as 1925, he thought of home furnishing as part of his architectural work.
He is also known for his books and numerous articles that allowed him to express and promote his architectural and urbanistic theories throughout the world.
Less known for his plastic work, Le Corbusier is nonetheless a complete artist who was interested in all aspects of creation and experimented with various materials.
His artistic production was expressed through painting, drawing, print, sculpture, tapestry or enamels.
All aspects of his work are deeply linked and echo his desire to make his work a true « synthesis of the major arts ».
