Le Corbusier's apartment-studio

Le Corbusier's Apartment-studio

Molitor building, first residential building with a glass façade,

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Maison des Illustres label

The studio flat occupies the top two floors of a totally innovative building designed between 1931 and 1934 by Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret on the border between Paris and Boulogne. With eight storeys of all-glass façades, he created the first glass apartment block in the history of architecture. Since 2016, the Molitor building has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with seventeen other major sites created by Le Corbusier. It underwent a restoration campaign in 2017 and 2018.

The 240m² duplex houses Le Corbusier’s home and painting studio. Bathed in light and open to nature, it features all the elements of his architectural language: the free plan, the long glazed sections, the roof terrace, the polychromy, and the huge pivoting doors that partition the space as much as they fluidify it.
