Le Corbusier

Works / Architecture / Achievements

Of the 79 buildings or ensembles created, 65 remain today, most of them protected, some already during Le Corbusier’s lifetime.

Seventeen works or sites make up a series inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List since 2016, testifying to an unprecedented exchange of influences over half a century, in relation to the birth and development of the modern movement.

Individual houses that have become icons of the modern movement, housing units that propose a new model based on the balance between the individual and the collective, a new approach to religious and cultural architecture, the diversity and global dimension of this work are a new phenomenon in the history of architecture.
